Tau pathfinders are the eyes and ears of a Cadre's commander, and coordinater closely with other formations. Fire caste doctrine states that a Cadre in the field should be puller forward by its Pathfinders, as opposed to its
Pathfinders being pushed forward by the Cadre. An effciency pathfinder team can help other Fire Warrior teams operate at peak effciency and are highly respected as a consequence. They are the undisputed masters of battlefield positioning, with limitless patience and a proud determination to shoose the most valuable targets for others to destroy. Imerial troops who fought in the Damocles Gulf Crusade described the signatur of the barely visible markerlight beams as the Valkyrie's Mark, Because those it chose were soon numbered the dead.
